I liked Cocktail. Top Gun is only marginally tolerable.
I like Top Gun 'cuz when I was in high school, I was considering joining the Air Force and becoming a fighter pilot. However, I gave up on that dream after learning you had to have near-perfect vision, with out any corrective devices.
Independence Day had a similar effect on me.
